Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Acquavivabeauty@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The difference between a permanent makeup artist and a body artist is that we tend to work more superficially in order to achieve natural results; if we pack in as much pigment as a body artist does, the final result will be unnatural and too saturated.

Permanent makeup does fade overtime. The duration depends on multiple factors including: aftercare, immune system, age, technique, sun exposure, medications (e.g. thyroid, anxiety medications), gym activity (excess sweating) and overall health.

With Ombre we will shade pigment into the skin using an electric tattoo machine to achieve a powder effect, the eyebrows will look fuller and perfect for every occasion.

With Digital Strokes we will implant pigment into the skin by using an electric tattoo machine and we will draw hair strokes to achieve a very natural look, the eyebrows will look fuller.

With the Combo Strokes & Shading will implant pigment into the skin by using an electric tattoo machine and we will draw hair strokes and shading technique to achieve a very natural look, the eyebrows will look fuller and always perfect.

It's known as lash enhancement or invisible eyeliner, and it involves tattooing an ultra-thin black line along the lash line to create the illusion of fuller, darker lashes.

A semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that enhances the natural colour of your lips, giving them a soft, tinted effect without the need for lipstick or liner. We will use a tattooing technique to implant pigment into the skin to give more definition and colour to the lips. It creates the appearance of fuller-looking lips without surgery or fillers. It corrects uneven pigmentation, enhances lip symmetry, and camouflages scars or hyperpigmentation. The results are a subtle, natural-looking tint that doesn't require daily makeup application. We will touch up after 6/8 weeks.

Lip blush is low-risk treatment, though, as with any procedure that involves breaking the skin, there’s a chance of infection. For this reason, it’s important to follow the pre-treatment and aftercare steps as well as to come in for a patch test beforehand.

Lip blushing typically lasts anywhere from one to three years. Usually a touch up is recommended after a year. That's because, in most cases, lips will gradually lighten over time.

Before & After Care Instructions

What you need to know before scheduling

For those whom are considering getting Permanent Makeup done, the final result and what to expect during the healing process is extremely important! So please take the time to read this before making your final decision.

Permanent makeup is an Art, not Science; results vary depending on skin type, skin undertones and other health factors. Good results are achieved when skin is healthy; if you have any sensitivities on the area that will be receiving Permanent Makeup, we recommend treating your skin first.

Strictly following aftercare instructions given by your expert beautician is a must for optimal results. Skin is a living organ and we have no control over your body healing function, and additional sessions may be required to achieve desired results.

All Permanent Makeup Cosmetic treatments need at least 2 sessions to achieve good results, however, you may require more if your skin is sensitive.

Each session is done 6 to 8 weeks far apart.

EYES

Whether you have had an eyelash enhancement or a permanent eyeliner treatment, your eyes will appear puffy for the following 2-3 day.

For the most natural lash enhancements, sometimes one session is enough; thicker eyeliners may need 2-3 sessions.

Skin should never be overworked; the eye tissue is super sensitive and very thin; if your eyes start bleeding or become swollen we prefer to complete the work in multiple sessions.

  • Day  1-3: You may experience puffy eyes, heavy lids. Try to sleep in an elevated position to help reduce swelling at night.
  • Day 4-6: some scabbing may occur; keep the area clean and no makeup on your eyes until completely peeled.

Eyes usually heal within 1 week. NO MAKEUP during this time.

Eyes permanent makeup lasts longer compared to other areas and doesn’t require yearly touch ups such as eyebrows or lips due to the thinner tissue.

LIP BLUSHING

Be prepared for bright coloured lips and swelling immediately following your procedure. The fuller the natural lip the more swelling occurs. Lips do not look nice while healing! If you are not prepared to put up with how they look in the healing process do not have them done.

  • Day 1-2: Lips may be swollen and the colour is very bright.
  • Day 3-6: They will go dry and flaky! Be patient, because lips heal relatively quickly. So you may have 4 to 7 days of them looking dry and chapped but the healed result is so worth it!

A Yearly colour boost recommended after first touch up. TRUST THE PROCESS!

BROWS

  • Day 1: Brows will appear slightly thicker than the initial template, colour looks darker and warmer due to the redness of the skin.
  • Day 2-4: Brows are darker than what you've expected, about 2 shades darker than what they will actually be once healed. Some redness may still persist on some clients.
  • Day 6-10: Brows normally start peeling around day 5-6. Some clients slightly peel, while some others may experience some scabbing. Once they start flaking, some areas of the eyebrows will fade more than others and as the skin heals, it will start to darken up again over a 3-4 week period
  • Day 28-40: At this time you'll actually start seeing the final result. Usually the final result is visible by the 4-5 week mark, while on subjects with mature skin, the healing process takes a little longer and takes about 6-7 weeks for the cell turnover to be completed.
We have no control over your body healing process, so please, be patient!

IMPORTANT: Your skin may not retain 100% of the colour the first time around, this is the reason for a second and sometimes a third session. Skin retains pigment much better during the touch up appointment, since the tissue is already used to the colour.

As months go by hair strokes become lighter and softer. Depending on the skin/age of the client and colour of pigment implanted, the brows will last 1-2 years until they need a colour boost. It is recommended to wait a minimum of one year before a colour boost, although some clients with oily skin may need a touch up sooner. A consistent use of sunblock and limiting the use of products like retinol, glycolic acid in the brow area will reduce excessive fading.
